Denis Bernard Patrice Lebon is the controller of the correspondence-related processing described in this policy. Questions and requests may be addressed to patrice@patricelebon.com, or sent by post to the professional address stated in the legal notice.
Data processed
Your correspondence and connection data
When you use the contact form, write by email or access an external service, you provide the contact details and content you choose to communicate. This website has no ordering facility.
The public website is hosted by o2switch. Connection logs may record IP addresses, requested pages, browsers, access dates and technical errors to maintain the hosting service and its security.
Purposes and lawful bases
Responding to enquiries and maintaining the service
Correspondence is used to respond to enquiries, editorial proposals, institutional approaches and prospective collaborations. Depending on their purpose, these activities rely on the legitimate interest in answering the enquiry or on pre-contractual measures requested by its sender.
Technical data serve the availability and security of the website, on the basis of the legitimate interest in operating a reliable service and, where applicable, legal obligations. The hosting provider’s commitments are set out in its data protection policy.
Audience measurement and external resources
Services used by this version
The ‘Like’ and ‘Love’ controls remember your selection on your device and use a random identifier specific to each item so that you can change or withdraw it. This identifier is created only when you react; it is not linked to your identity, an IP address or your reactions to other items. The author’s private record retains active reactions and daily totals of clicks on sharing, link-copying and comment-opening controls for approximately thirteen months. Totals are never displayed publicly. Only the types of reaction received, a thumb and/or a heart, are visible, without numbers or identities. A click on a social network does not prove that a share was published there. These controls respect DNT and GPC signals for collection. No comment is published or sent automatically.
Internal audience measurement counts requested pages and aggregates, by day, referring sources, distribution campaigns, language, device type and certain interactions with the essay, including reading, audio, sharing and downloading. Country and, where available, an approximate city are derived locally from hosting information or a geographical database installed on the server. Cities are retained as monthly totals, and small counts are omitted from reports. An estimated city is neither a visitor’s home nor their exact location. This measurement installs no cookie, assigns no visit identifier, retains neither IP addresses nor individual browsing paths in its statistics, and sends no such data to advertising networks. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected. These statistics cannot disclose a visitor’s name. The hosting provider retains its own technical logs separately.
Source of the local geographical database, where installed: DB-IP Lite, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. Coverage is partial and location remains approximate.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Displaying them causes your browser to make requests to Google’s servers. Please consult the Google Fonts information and the Google privacy policy.
Videos play from files hosted on this website, without an embedded social player. Links to media outlets and social networks open external services governed by their own policies.
